About Stephanie

I've spent the past 23 years in private practice working with teens, adults, and couples improving mental health, relationships, conflict resolution, academic, professional and personal growth. For 17 years I practiced as a marriage and family therapist and more recently, in the past 8.5 years as a coach and divorce mediator.  In 2015 I graduated from McGeorge School of Law with a Masters of Science in Family Law and Mediation. During that time I was an intern with a local family law attorney and assisted her in all aspects of divorce mediation.

I currently provide individual, couples coaching and divorce and custody mediation in my private practice. I no longer work as a licensed therapist and have found that coaching and mediation allow me to use my education and extensive experience in a variety of ways to assist my clients in meeting their goals.

My past experience includes receiving my Masters Degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and School Counseling from California State University, Sacramento in 2000. I spent the first 7 years of my career working at Valley Community Counseling Services as a Registered Marriage Family Therapist Intern and School Counselor. During this time I treated clients in both clinical and school settings providing individual, family and group counseling on a variety of mental health issues to include depression, anxiety, marital issues, domestic violence and issues related to addiction. I also provided family reunification counseling and skills training for families involved with Child Protective Services and foster care. I worked extensively with adults in difficult and sometimes emotionally and/or physically abusive relationships. In addition, I have facilitated adult, male and female anger management groups.

While providing school and child counseling I facilitated anger management, grief and life skills groups to youth and adolescents. In the past 22 years, I have worked with children on an individual and group basis for issues related to divorce, grief, depression, anxiety, anger issues, self-injurious behavior, drug use and issues of abuse. My experience includes mental health counseling in schools at all levels  to include counseling at Howe Avenue Elementary, Clover Middle School, New Jerusalem Charter School, Jane Frederick Continuation School, Inderkum High School, and Natomas Charter School.

I have taken my 23 years of training and experience as a therapist, law school education, and divorce mediation experience and transformed my professional career into a fulfilling career that helps my clients reach their personal goals in the best way possible. I no longer work as a licensed therapist which has allowed me freedom to work with clients in an authentic, practical, and truly collaborative way.
